SOLE SEARCHING - GOT ‘EM:” It’s Okay to Have Things but You Can’t Let Things Have You

By Fasiri Ellison

Why I’m a sneakerhead:

There is a new movie out called “Air” based on Nike recruiting the G.O.A.T., (Michael Jordan) to be the face of its company. The then-largely unknown shoe company initially projected his shoe to generate $3 million in sales in four years. Today, Air Jordan generates $3 million every five hours. The Nike Air Jordan is the most popular shoe … ever.

By Margaret Buford Jones

During American Education Week, on Tuesday November 14, 2023, retirees paid a visit to Bullock County High School. The Retirees enjoyed meeting  and talking with the principal, teachers, and students while observing them in action. This brought back many fond memories.

This was the first on campus visit in four years. The pandemic prevented such interactions. The visit ended with lunch from the school’s salad bar, compliments of Association President James Cooks.

Bullock County Humane Society Pet of the Week

Meet “Sela,” our cat of the week. Sela is a two and a half year old spayed female domestic short hair.  She's up to date on all of her shots including rabies. Sela is extremely calm and prefers to snuggle up on your lap or sit in her window basket and watch the youngsters play. She'd be a great cat for a smaller home with maybe a human or two to call her own. If you're interested in meeting Ms. Sela or some of her kitty companions, we are running a special on kitty adoptions through the end of the year.
